Getting married in the time of Coronavirus is a delicate and complex subject.
The spouses literally panicked because they had to make or are still making a difficult decision: stick to the initial date or postpone the wedding?
WEDDING PLANNER IN THE TIME OF CORONOVIRUS
We ourselves, as wedding planners, have to deal with our couples’ decisions who preferred to postpone their wedding to 2021.
With professionals by their side, they don’t have to contact each vendor for contract updates and for contract terms “migration” management to the following year .
SOLUTIONS FOR A WEDDING IN THE TIME OF CORONAVIRUS
GET MARRIED IN THE INITIAL DATE
The spouses who have decided to stick by their initial wedding date (we are reffering to all the weddings starting May 2020 onwards) will undoubtedly have to take into account the social distancing that will probably continue for a long time. They will probably have to evaluate a drastic reduction of their guests in order to guarantee the distancing and the reception with all the other guests will take place in another future moment.
Probably it will be necessary to equip all guests with masks, gloves and disinfectant gels.
One of the fundamental steps will be to evaluate the event feasibility with the suppliers and in any case it will be necessary to take into account the legal regulations that will be issued and that are constantly changing.
The couples who have decided to postpone their wedding date within the year can evaluate the months of October, November or December 2020.
Social distancing, the use of masks and disinfectants will probably still have to be taken into account for the foreseeable future.
It is very difficult to predict the virus progress and the measures that will be taken by then, anyway also in this case it will be necessary to talk to the vendors about the feasibility.
POSTPONE THE EVENT TO 2021
The couples who decided to postpone their wedding date to 2021 have perhaps made the decision that can give us and the guests more peace of mind.
Also in this case it is very difficult to predict the trend that the virus will have and the measures that will be taken by the Government by then, however we really hope that the situation will improve significantly.
Also in this case it will be necessary to talk to the suppliers about the feasibility.
INTERVIEW : WEDDINGS IN THE TIME OF CORONAVIRUS
We have been collaborating for years with a very good photographer, Federico Fasano from FF Studio. His recent world prize at the WPJA for the photographs of a COVID-19 wedding made us wanted to interview him and understand how this COVID-19 wedding took place. The right moment to give you also some more COVID-19 wedding ideas.
Federico, when the photo award COVID-19 wedding took place exactly?
On February 29, 2020, a strange moment in which the Coronavirus lockdown was about to begin with all the restrictions and measures we all know.
Did the couple decided to get married anyway?
Yes, but with a series of restrictions, in order to avoid gatherings, they reduced their guests list to 15 people by postponing the party with all the other guests to a date to be destined (there had to be 200 of them).
Were the couple calm?
Yes, of course, in order not to leave anyone out, they went online live on Youtube during their civil ceremony with all the other guests who had not been able to participate.
How was the experience of this wedding as a photographer?
Well, I was relaxed, trying as always to be discreet and respectful.
Any advice you can give to the couples?
Postpone until 2021! I realize that this is not a simple decision to make but the wedding par excellence is a day of celebration to be enjoyed to the fullest so postponing it in my opinion is the right choice for the couple but also for their guests.
